Alzira E is a woman who defies time. She broke away from the conservatism of her surroundings to become a free artist. Born in the countryside of Mato Grosso do Sul, she moved to São Paulo at a young age, where she built a solid career as an instrumentalist and composer, collaborating with icons such as Itamar Assumpção, Ney Matogrosso, and her sister Tetê Espíndola. Irreverent and sophisticated, her compass is the present — what can never be lost.
Alzira is the force of nature itself. One current — no beginning, no end. A river you can't tell the depth or surface. Alzira E ‘undulates.’ A good story doesn't move forward or backward, it undulates. — Marcelino Freire | Folha de São Paulo
In times of incomplete memories, the film compensates a mistake: how come we knew so little about this woman. — David Obarrio - BAFICI | Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente
