SÉ DO PORTO: DIÁRIO DE UM RESTAURO (DIARY OF A RESTORATION) documents the intricate work of restoration professionals, whose invisible, quiet labor fights time and decay to preserve cultural heritage. Classified as a National Monument since 1910, the Sé do Porto (Porto Cathedral) is one of Portugal’s most iconic landmarks. A symbol of national identity, it holds immense cultural, historical, architectural, and artistic significance — as much a subject of scholarly inquiry as of popular imagination. Between 2021 and 2023, its main chapel underwent a significant restoration, engaging a multidisciplinary team of experts across multiple fields.
Part of the 15th edition of the Património à Norte Collection, titled “SÉ DO PORTO: CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF THE MAIN CHAPEL”, available in digital format online.
