GIRO NA PRAÇA

INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA PLATAFORM

gironapraca.com.br

GIRO NA PRAÇA is a multimedia platform that invites visitors to dive into the stories and memories of Praça General Osório through the characters who inhabit it. From the recollections of the founder of the Banda de Ipanema to outdoor fitness classes; from the baroque art of Mestre Valentim to the revitalization that reactivated the fountain he created more than 200 years ago—these narratives intertwine and complement each other through portraits, audio guides, archival images, and 360º technology. A journey that allows us to learn about and relive the events of this iconic space in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
During the production of GIRO NA PRAÇA, the LAB DA PRAÇA was held—workshops on documentary cinema, memory mapping, and immersive narratives. The LAB also featured Cabine Aberta, a film set that recorded testimonies and memories of residents, passersby, workers, and visitors to the square, resulting in the “Portraits of the Square,” part of the Praça em 3×4 section. The project also produced a short documentary that was screened outdoors for the local community at its launch.
